One of the items discussed at the Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday 30 June 2010 was the Walworth Business Park rejuvenation project. The Council is pleased with the response it has received to the first part of the project which aims to find a long-term business partner for the rejuvenation of the Walworth Business Park.
Economic Portfolio Holder, Councillor Peter Giddings said “The long-term economic importance of this project to the area means it is vital that we find the right partner to work with. The number and calibre of private sector companies expressing an interest in the project and, more importantly, returning pre-qualification questionnaires has exceeded expectations”.
The second stage of the project has now commenced for the shortlisted companies and this phase will run through the summer months. A Bidders Day is scheduled for July with final tender submissions being requested in September. It is hoped that the project will be concluded in December when the successful company will be announced.
