Is there any other provider that give me good service for a cheaper price?

	It's a competitive market and you need to figure out several factors. One of the major ones is switching phone companies if you are with BT. It is not obligatory in all cases but some will expect you to tie phone & internet access. Personally we migrated to Sky and so far so good, paying less and big jump in speed and top reliability. BUT that's us, we already have SKY TV so it wasn't an issue having broadband on top. In your instance i'd suggest shopping around, see what you can get for your money and decide what service you want. Check out - http://www.broadband-finder.co.uk/

	I would like to change but when my grandson comes over he likes to play games online. I concerned that a lot of Companies have downloading limits and then penalise you if you go over. Is there a way you can measure this?

	I have just switched to Vigin, I'm paying for 20mb but lucky if I get 7. After calling and calling them I was eventually told that the servers for this area can not cope with the demand. We shall have to wait until they upgrade them. Anyone else with virgin in Andover having any issues. Have you measured the speed that you are actually getting?

	They were terrible when they were NTL sounds like nothing has changed

	I've been with NTL/Virgin for years now and never had a problem. I think its great.

	Lord Carter's Digital Britain report proposed to scrap BT's obligation to ensure every home has access to a telephone line and replace it with a requirement to provide broadband at up to two megabits per second. The 'universal service commitment' would aim to ensure everyone had quick enough web access to watch videos online. The report also proposed the creation of a new body to deal with the problem of people illegally copying and sharing music and films over the internet. Around 60 per cent of the country uses broadband at the moment, while 99 per cent has access to it, but not always at the required speed of 2 mb/sec. Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: "Our digital networks will be the backbone of our economy in the decades ahead. It is as essential to our future prosperity in the 21st Century as roads, bridges, trains and electricity were in the 20th Century."

	The findings come ahead of the much-anticipated release of the government's Digital Britain review due before the end of January that is expected to include plans for stimulating nationwide rollout of next-generation broadband infrastructure. Communications Consumer Panel member Roger Darlington said that some people may be surprised to learn that there are already so many community-based initiatives to install super-fast broadband. "The various schemes are of very different sizes and at very different stages of development, but collectively they show a range of funding and business models, and various technical delivery options," he said. "All this regional and local activity should contribute significantly to the national debate on the timing and form of next-generation access rollout in the UK." Examples of local networks include the Digital Region project in South Yorkshire, that aims to connect all households and businesses in the area to give fast internet access to at least 500,000 people. A project in Bournemouth announced earlier this week that it has had its first 30 residential customers connected to a new 100Mbit/s optical fibre broadband network using cabling installed in the sewers by H2O Networks.
